I made a jolly rancher sculpture and I created it with slabs of clay and molding it with my hands into a cylinder. I then made the wrapper end part of the candy by slipping and scoring it to the cylinder piece of the candy. After that, I got it fired and then painted it with acrylic paint to make it look more realistic. I was inspired to make this piece when I was brainstorming ideas and I was sucking on a jolly rancher candy so I just did that. I think the center of the piece and the colors is the most successful thing about my piece. If I were to make this again, I would probably adjust one side of the wrapper to make it look like the other wrapper side so it looked proportional. I would sign up for sculpture class but my schedule doesn't work out the way the periods of sculpture are.
